Objectives:
To learn how to express one's self following learning the language through culture in addition to Oxford and Cambridge CAE Practice Tests both in Oral Expression and in Listening Comprehension. Learning the language through culture is represented in the following guidelines that students need:
Proverbs.
Famous sayings.
Expressions.
Famous speeches.
Phrasal verbs.
Adjectives: Personality or character+ physical adjectives for describing people.
Other material includes:
Tongue Twisters.
Opinion.
Suggestion.
Rejection.
Permission.
In addition to other guidelines.
Students need to keep up with the course material because it will rely on their receptive skill of listening in order to build their oral expression productive skill, and because the lesson materials will be interspersed with listening tasks and other oral expression tasks from CAE Practice Tests, such as expressing hobbies and ambitions...etc.
Students will have three to four courses dedicated to short presentations on their own cultural perspective to test their abilities in expressing their opinion without frustration, which means, with a rich repertoire of vocabulary.
Such presentations will be suggested by the teacher to keep the group united discussing one theme, and they include:
Ancient history of Algeria: Prehistory and Cave Art.
King Juba II.
Algerian Sahara Touristic attractions.
The House of Wisdom.
The Golden Ages of the Muslim Civilization.
Etc.
P.S.: This remark is very important; it is the duty of students to conduct online research based on the course materials to be able to acquire as many vocabulary as possible. If they come to the sessions without preparation, research or memorizing there would be a lesser amount of vocabulary obtained.
Good Luck :)
