The course (How the other Half Live) is adressed to the first year master students of Economics and Commercial sciences. The focus of the text is to discuss the differences and the disparities between two dinstinguished families both belonged to different worlds. One of those is linked by a high standard living and a wealthier situation to grow and prosper, and in the contrast the other family lives under harsh and precarious conditions. The authors aims by making this difference to shed light on the global differences of the international economy between the wealthier nations and the poorer ones.
The students are required to:
1. Read carefully the text and use the dictionary to understand the hard concepts.
2. Answer the following questions:
Ø What are the causes behind the differences of the global economy beween the wealthier and the poorer?
Ø According to you, is it possible to alleviate this discrepancy between these two blocs (wealth versus poor) through the economic and social cooperaton? explain
